The symposium provides for participants the opportunity to present the progress in their work and to discuss related problems of current interest in theory, experiment and applications in various areas. Moreover, HAKONE provides a forum for sharing knowledge, experience and creative ideas in a friendly atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scope of the conference is devoted to theoretical mechanisms and applications of electrical discharges at high pressure and low temperature. Every next HAKONE the area of interest has being extended to new emergent and innovative fields of research and development, like biomedical plasma application, surface modification, micro-plasmas, alternative materials, fuels and other interdisciplinary plasma topics.<br>The series of High Pressure Low Temperature Plasma Chemistry Symposiums was initiated in Hakone (Japan, 1987).
